Waxed canvas, canvas or PU leather?
Waxed canvas (M80, M85, M86, M49) is cotton canvas treated with wax. It resists light rain and splashes, feels a little stiff at first, and develops creases and a worn-in patina with use. It is water-resistant, not waterproof.
Canvas (M83) is untreated, so it is lighter and softer from day one but absorbs water more readily. For a full comparison, see waxed canvas vs canvas.
PU leather (YZ11) is a faux leather with a smooth finish that wipes clean. It is not natural leather, so it needs different care from the canvas models.
Care and maintenance
- Waxed canvas models: spot-clean with cold water and a soft brush, let the bag air dry, and never machine wash or use detergent or heat. Re-apply a canvas wax once or twice a year to restore water resistance.
- Leather trim: wipe with a damp cloth and condition occasionally with a leather conditioner, keeping it off the canvas.
- YZ11 PU leather: wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap. Do not apply canvas wax or natural-leather treatments to PU leather.

It depends on the model. The waxed canvas and canvas models use leather trim (genuine leather on the M80 and M49, crazy horse leather on the M86). The YZ11 is made of PU (faux) leather.
